Sunny Day

"The Adventures of Sunny Day"

“Flat Stanley” is a 1964 children’s book by Jeff Brown in which the title character, Stanley Lambchop, accidentally becomes flattened by a bulletin board. Instead of being sad about his situation, Flat Stanley realizes he can fit in an envelope and be mailed to friends all over the world, who can share their adventures with him. Flat Stanley is a school project for first- and second graders in which students mail their Flat Stanley to friends and relatives to learn about letterwriting, geography and other skills. Today, the Sun-Gazette begins its version of “Flat Stanley” with our mascot, newsboy Sunny Day.

Read what happened to our newsboy, Sunny Day and how he found himself in his situation here!

To start your adventures with Sunny, just cut him out from Monday, September 1st edition of the Williamsport Sun-Gazette's Education section. Take a picture with him and then mail him to a friend or relative. Your friends or relatives can take a picture with Sunny Day explaining their adventure and so on.

Then submit the photo and your adventure using our Virtual Newsroom following the link below. The Sun-Gazette staff will then post your Sunny Day adventure on our CU site for the world to see!
